Smokin' for The Holmes Team

Home Team BBQ (1205 Ashley River Road) will host “Smokin’ For The Holmes Team” on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 3:00PM to 6:00PM to raise money for Holmes Team.

Through longtime friends, Home Team BBQ was introduced to Holmes, a Brevard, NC based, positive, fun loving five year old boy with brain cancer.  Holmes has been diagnosed with a Glial Fibrillary Astrocytoma brain tumor, and due to his age and size, they are unable to operate. He is beginning treatment for the tumor, and Home Team BBQ is hopeful that this event will help raise funds for Holmes’ family and their day to day expenses. The Desmelik family, includes Clare, Holmes’ mother, a public high school Spanish teacher, Dave, Holmes’ father, a musician, and Holmes’ little brother Vince. 

Home Team BBQ and Swig & Swine will be joining efforts on a “smoked” menu including brisket, beef ribs, and sides, and Coast Brewery will be serving beer. The event will feature live music by Underhill Rose, a silent auction, and superhero themed kids’ activities in honor of Holmes. There will also be a kid’s menu of hot dogs, tater tots, and macaroni and cheese.

Admission is $50 for adults, $15 for children. All proceeds will be donated to Holmes Team.
